Not really surprising. OSU hadn't played a defense all year even half that talented.
|
Good grief. Maybe, just maybe all the OSU fans will now STFU and go home. I was really getting tired of every sound bite on the radio & TV of them saying "Yeah, Fla got here but just wait till they hit the field. OSU will stomp them and the SEC will see what's what!".
Fans can be the worst. uh-oh, did I just say that out loud? nevermind... ;) |
"Honestly, we've played a lot better teams than them," Florida defensive end Jarvis Moss said. "I could name four or five teams in the SEC that could probably compete with them and play the same type of game we did against them."
|
Thats fine, but Wisconsin beat Auburn...
Penn State beat Tennessee. So the mid level Big 10 teams beat the mid level SEC teams head to head. OSU had an off night and FL was on. The discrepancy between the two conferences, if there is any...is neglegible. |
Bowl Records
Big East (5) 5-0 Big Ten (7) 2-5 Southeastern (9) 6-3 Wisconsin beat Arkansas, not Auburn. Big Ten's top two teams were blown out by a combined score of 73 to 32. Wisconsin, the #3 team in the Big 10, lucked out with Arkansas' Darren McFadden being hurt, and the hog's best QB on the bench. The Badgers were held to minus-5 yards rushing for the game. Penn State, well I can't say anything bad about JoePa. He is the second best coach ever. Plus, I'm glad his team dominated TenneSUCKee! Alabama (My team) should have never been in a bowl, which accounts the 3rd SEC loss. Bama's record before the bowl game was 6-6 and only went to the game because the SEC placed two teams in the BCS Bowls. The Big East at 5-0 looks like the best conference, but as Boise State showed us looks can be deceiving. My opinion is the SEC is the best conference this year, but we all know what opinions are like. |

Hey! I'm a Buckeye, live in Columbus, and was worried all along. Some fans aren't cockly like that.
I was worried because, if I'm correct, 7 of the last 9 champ games were won by the underdog. I think it is the team that comes with the fire, the passion to win. We didn't in the least. Plus, our coaching/playcalling sucked. That part shocks me but it is true. Honestly, I think we had some senioritis that combined with being favored highly. We thought we could mail it in and got punished for it. |
Let me add, Florida looked sweet! They had the fire, composure, and execution.
My hats off... |
They showed the faces of some of these OSU fan and the were just in shock.
Team goes undefeted QB wins the HT #1 in all the polls They get tickets to the game They paint thier faces and heads Wear thier lucky red underwear The game is over at half time. Long quite flight home. OUCH! |
Just for those who are curious some stats:
UF OSU Total yards 370 82 Pass yards 214 35 Rush 156 47 Penalties 6/50 5/50 Possession 40:48 19:12 And of course 41 14 I know when I called my sister late last night they were partying in Gainesville. I also found it interesting that this is the first time in NCAA history where the football and men's basketball titles are held by the same school. When you think of all the prolific programs that have been in college sports I at least would have thought this would have occurred a lot sooner. |

Problem with the SEC is there isn't two good teams in th conference, historically there's usaully at least four. (Fla, LSU, AUB, Tenn, and sometimes ALA.) They tend to knock each other out of contention for a national championship. This year there were only three real good teams in the SEC. FLA, Aurburn, and LSU. Not to mention the cross state rivelry with Fla State. From 1990-2002 that game has been significance in how the teams place. Ohio state plays Michigan, Texas and....well, that's about it. Both of them, this year, were not that good. |

Yep...a fabulous game...if you were a Gators fan. If you were really neutral, didn't care who won, but hoping for an entertaining game? I was back on the net by halftime...jerking off with you guys and also looking for a custom pool cue. The game had become a yawner...I hate watching blowouts.

I agree about blow outs, but after all the crap the OSU & Mich. fans were giving us, both locally and on the net, it made that victory taste ever so sweet!! |
These gators reminded me of the Spurrier team a few years back beating Florida. The same intense energy.
