Yes and it is healthy (mentally/physically/fiscally) and not all the difficult if you keep a well stocked kitchen, presuming your car doesn't break down on a daily basis.

YMMV

Have you ever gone camping?

Yep. All the time. I try to go Monday-Thursday without spending any money, if possible.

Some words of advice I once received on this subject made sense to me: Keep your life simple and before you buy something think: In 6 months will I remember that I have bought, or not bought this item and will that something still mean something to me.

ie food: You'll remember if you starved or you might think you spent too much at that restaurant, or you splurged and it was worth it.

or going to the Kart track on a regular basis: I won't remember what lap times I ran or anything special about that week. Therefor I only go with friends on a rare occasion and those days I do remember and I consider money well spent.

This mentality has helped me spend money on things that are important to me and keep frivolous spending down.

I go through weeks without actually spending any money out of my pocket (or even a card). When on the road its all expensed, when home I fill the tank every 3 to 4 weeks. I bring my lunch and I may hit a store once every week or 2. Now my Wife, well thats another story...

BTW - I have been tracking the cost of my eating over the past few weeks - I am keeping it under $4/day and still eating healthy!

Same here. I never go to an ATM and spend as little as possible on a regular basis. Let the other guy spend, spend, spend. My money is saved to use on important things.

Hmmmm..Mortgage payment, Property Taxes, House Insurance, Car insurance, Utility bills, Food bills, other miscellaneous expenses. ...just try and get away from those.

I live very low to the ground overall, the only real expense is for my addiction, collecting spoons.

Most of U would be aghast at the extent of my spoon collections.

Yes but hopefully they are gaining in value every minute while sitting in the kitchen, or is that the vault?

It's all about cash flow. I don't keep the greatest books but I know I put at least $30k (in cash) on the street last month. I can't wait for the tax refunds to start.
tabs, I have a few spoons to sell. What are you looking for?

You'd have to be locked in a dark closet in order not to spend a penny. My usual day (Monday thru Thursday) consists of a $1.25 toll in the morning and most days just whatever I use in gas from driving to and from work. The weekends are when I end up running up the credit cards.
