Trying to print using iBook over wireless network using printer sharing on XP

My wife has an iBook that runs OSX. It accesses the internet via a Linksys 2.4GHz wireless router. No problem. The printer is an HP Officejet 5610 hooked directly to the PC. PC accesses the internet through the same router, but via a cable instead of wireless. Printer sharing is turned on in XP.

I'm not sure why this doesn't work. I've tried to set up the printer on the iBook... it sees the network and it sees the PC... but that's as far as I can get. When I send a print job it act like it goes through, but nothing happens on the printer or PC. Suggestions?

Um, get rid of the PC?

Have a similar problem, with no solution. Girlfriend comes over with PC laptop, same router set-up, same settings, no print. Workaround is for her to email me the files she wants printed.

My wife just has her own USB cable and plugs it directly into the printer. Seem like there should be a way to make this work without spending a bunch of money on new equipment.

Found this on macosxhints.com:

With the printer connected to the PC and printer sharing turned on in XP, go to http://localhost:631 on the iBook. This will give you access to Cups application. In that application, choose Add Printer, and follow the explanations. Choose a Windows Samba Printer when prompted.
