We’re coming up on twelve (!) years since Blind Melon broke up following one of rock and roll’s great tragedies: the accidental and fatal overdose of their singer Shannon Hoon. Now, after the short lived attempt to carry on under a different name, the remaining members are once again making music under the banner of Blind Melon. With the recruitment of Texas native Travis Warren, the band apparently feels ready to share what they’ve been up to.

You can find three songs and a video here unless, of course, you’d rather not be completely depressed in remembering what a loss Hoon still is to the music community.

I was lucky enough to see Blind Melon when I was in high school at the State Theater in Detroit Michigan. Still have that ticket stub.

Still listen to their stuff.. Studio tracks were good, but you have to love the live stuff as well as the rough cuts assembled on Nico Blue.
