Making of a Wankel
|
Looked pretty cool. I thought the engine stand jig looked a little flimsy. Thanks!

Very cool - thanks for sharing.

Oh, it's a Wank-EL , I thought...
Seriously though, does ANYONE think they sound nice? |
I, too, have a Wankel. Aircooled.

Neat-o. I was surprised to see them assembling the case without any protection on the crank. You'd think it'd be easy to bonk it accidentally.
Pat, I love miniature engines... that mini wankel is too cool. I take assume it's for an RC plane? |

One of the most interesting is the single cylinder four stroke with a tiny Roots type supercharger on it, running off the rear of the crankshaft. http://images8.fotki.com/v131/photos...SCN1058-vi.jpg |
Too cool, Pat. Have any miniature jets for R/C planes? I saw quite a few flying around Balboa Park in The Valley out here.

Oh BTW: great thread. The Wankel's one of my favorite engines. It's almost a toss-up between it and the Flat 6 for me.

I'd love to find a radial engine, like the Technopower engines. As you can see, these aren't cheap either. http://www.technopower.com/ I'm looking for an Enya V240 which is out of production, it's a 2.4 cubic inch V-twin. http://images14.fotki.com/v379/photo..._enyavt-vi.jpg And, before I forget, that wankel construction video is pretty neat, is that at Mazda or a aftermarket builder? |

That's a man for whom "too much" is about right.
