Yet More Snow!
First 15" at the beginning of January. Then an ice storm 2 weeks ago and now another 5" of snow. This is the worst January I can remember in mid-Missouri. Last year we didn't even get the winter coats out.

Need to get ahold of my Brother in Springfield. Hear its bad down there as well.
Raining here in Arizona again, and lots of snow in the mountains. Its coming your way Kurt, so keep those jackets handy! |

;) |
We haven't even had an inch here in CT. Bizzarre. Oh well, I'm enjoying driving my Porsche...
|

SNOWING...........CAVE CREEK,ARIZONA !!!!!!!! time 11:36AM 1/21/07 present temp..........27degrees!
its a WET SNOW! |
Kurt, If you have trouble with parts for the Willys let me know. My next door neighbor collects them and has a ton of stuff.
|
Well, today we're seeing our first snowfall of the Winter. I think it'll be a small deal, except for the fact that may of the locals have no clue how to drive on this stuff. Carnage should be everywhere. I'm glad I'm walking to work tomorrow.

I like your mansion, Kurt. Very representative!
Beautiful grown trees. What are they ? Looks like some kind of pine, but the ones without leaves are difficult to make out. Elegant garage (almost cute ;) ). Still no snow in south of Sweden. Took the Carrera for a two hour hard revving country tour. Glorious indeed. What lovely cars we have. |

I'm going 4 wheeling in the Pacifica!! |
I hate winter...snow or not. Pinched a nerve in my neck Sat morning, and I have to deal with the snow on the driveway. Normally I'd have to shovel it...but I have a snow thrower now and WOW!! It was almost enjoyable, clearing the driveway. For the few times I might use it, the little Toro 3 HP thrower is worth every penny...better yet, it is a hand-me-down.
I feel you pain looking at the pictures of that driveway, Kurt. |
10" here, fun stuff. Makes me grateful for our 4Runner. Kurt, your snowman puts me to shame.
|
3" inches here last night. 37 now, so most of it's melting. Yup, it has been a pretty weird winter so far...
Charles, do they still make Daves' cave creek chili beer there? |
I took my gf's Mini to the gym in the snow today. Almost every car I saw sliding around, the driver was on their cell phone. Kill them all!!!!!!! When I approached my house, there were several accidents within 200 yds. of my house. Yeah, I bet those were real important phone conversations. How did I make it home with no problems?
|
Ryan, hope we are still friends as I want to drive down there and test drive your new 911! The Willys, once it is in 4x4, just blasts through the snow!
Stomachmonkey, thanks for the offer. Most Willys' parts are still readily available, but you never know when those parts may become NLA! Marcus, the house while it is 3000 square feet, does not fall into the realm of a mansion. It was built in 1926 and the garage in the back is the original carriage house. The trees are a mix of pines (which lost a number of branches in the ice storm 2 weeks ago) and oaks. Souk, I wish we had a snow blower. That driveway and the parking area in the back takes hours to shovel out! |
Great Willys!! Have fun while it lasts...
|
come on down, kurt..i need you. the horn relay buzzes, but i ain't hearin' no horn! and where is the darn horn on a 964 anyway?? more fun, although not a problem at the moment..engaging the a/c switch..i don't hear the sound of a clutch engaging. ooops.. :(
i'll see your willys and 'lower you' a '90 toyota 4x4 deluxe pickup, 3" body lift, 33x12.5 bfg all-terrains.. ;) marcus: you like pine and oak? come on down to arkansas..i think we can find you jussssst a few down here as well. you can even have all of the &^%&^%&!!! pine needles off of my roof! ;) ryan |

mine north of town and passes EPA strict guidelines. i've had the chilibeer and its not bad. but then anything that i can see thru, thats in a beer bottle is fair game! FYI.........cave creek is named for a cave-DUH! and on x-mas day back in the 1880's the u.s. calvary got wind of renegades hold up there. they then proceeded to wipe them out! bad indians! snows pretty rare here so everyone including the illegal aliens are flocking to the hills to catch a glimpse of the white stuff. just picture illegal from mexico or better yet honduras or guatemala driving chevy in snow for first time! what a visual HUH? |
Kurt and Ryan,
Apart from vintage Porsche´s I have developed a peculiar passion for trees over the years. Not entirely sure why. Something with being among the oldest living organisms on Earth. What did the surroundings look like 2000 years ago when some of the Red Wood trees were just a little bush. Still standing in the same place. Mind boggling to say the least. |
