Unethical local shop (just my ranting)

This weekend I have been repairing the brakes on my mothers Dodge Durango. Since I picked it up from her house, leaving my daily car, and then drove it directly to my shop - there was only my 911 to get around in. I thought nothing of this.

Anyway, I pulled both rotors and went to the local garage to have them turned. He advertises $10 each to turn rotors. As I walk in, rotors in hand, he says "it'll be extra to turn rotors for that car."

I just kinda laughed "haha" at what I thought was just redneck humor. He said "No, really." I turned right around and left, mumbling something about going elsewhere. I really didn't need his BS and didn't have time to stand there and debate about it.

I guess it didn't occur to him that I couldn't have the rotors off and be driving the car.

Went up the road a mile and got them turned for $10 each by a guy who was very enamoured with my car.

when I got my rotors turned they didn't cost any more but it took them awhile to find the right bolt pattern or something.

Talk to the local DA about false advertising. I know its not much but dammit when they say $10 for turning, it should cost $10 unless exceptions are noted on the advert.

i found a nice little local napa with a machine shop after dealing with crappy other places....
prices are a little higher ($15 per rotor compared to $10) but they usually get everything done within 2 hours, they thought it was funny when i took in my nissan truck rotors for resurfacing while driving the 911......but no extra $$ :D

cash, lucky you weren't wearing a rolex when you arrived or there would have been an extra charge for that too.

Unless it was fake.

Not that there is anything wrong with that....
