Thing is, is there are still complete speedsters in barns out there... There was a collection of 20-30 open cars (speedsters, roadsters, a few cabs) pulled out of the woods here in N Florida just a couple years ago. One speedster owner "found" the 13th one made, stopping for directions while driving his 356... farmer said "come look at whats in the barn" - pushed it out, let a pic or two get taken, pushed it back in for "some day"...

Just before they could finish their deal, the two men heard a voice coming from the direction of the barn door: "Daddy, ah finished milkin' Elsie, is there anything else that you want me tah do before ah go to my aerobics class?"

And into the barn stepped...the Farmers' Daughter.

My experience has been the other way around. Joe Schmoe berings in some piece of junk and wants thousands for it because he saw what one brought on Antique Road show.
