tivo/dvr sucks

Amazing how much of an hour is devoted to commercials and how little to the show.

TIVO had made me wonder how I could stand watching TV for the first 45 years of my existence.

It has me so spoiled that once while riding in my truck, I missed something on the radio and reached to play it back, then realized my radio doesn't have that feature.

I cannot remember the last time I listened to the radio in my car...it is either a CD, my iPod, or the sound of the engine at 6000 RPM

I do that too! Can't watch TV in a hotel room. Need my TIVO.

Too bad they don't have TIVO for the rest of your life. Fast forward through your mother in laws visit, slow-mo replay that date with Julie...you get the idea.

Yes you can! Get a slingbox and hook it up to your television and Tivo and watch anything you want to anywhere in the world.

I was in Berlin last fall watching the formula one race from the hotel over the internet in English on the laptop, while seeing the video on the television (but in German) so the best of both worlds.

Directv offers dozens of XM stations. I listen to classic rock on channel 833 (Top Tracks) a lot. This station can play 100's of songs without playing one I don't like, anyway..... my point of all this is, TIVO is completely disabled on any XM channel. I guess it's a moot point because there are no commercials to bypass, but sometimes I especially like the song playing and the phone rings and the pause button doesn't work!

Tivo rocks. I watch better TV because of it, don't have to watch whatever is on, only what I want.
