Gun Control laws being introduced already

Somebody needs to inform these cretans that if they want power beyond December 31, 2008; they'd better forget they ever heard of these bills.

We will not tolerate any further infringement of our rights.

Remember, John McCain supports all those bills, as does Rudy Giuliani, and Hitlary.

We need more guns because when things finally get bad enough in this country and the majority of the people (many non-gun owners) realize that a revolution is the only thing that will get their rights back, there won't be any guns available to buy anymore.

If enough people have "planned ahead" and purchased firearms for the revolution that will be needed in 20, 30, or 40 years, there is a chance that a free society will be established again.

The same reason I need 12 Porsches, because I can. Plus it is my right as an American. Same reason I need 33 old BMX bikes, I wanted them, same reason one of my buddies as an house full of art, because he is a collector and wants them.

So how do you guys decide which bits of the constitution are important? Is there a committee somewhere?

The Bush Administration says, though Gonzales, "there is no habeas corpus" and you utter not a peep. What did you say to warrantless searches and wiretaps? "Eh, if you're not doing anything wrong, what are you worried about - you commie." But anything that might keep you from going out and buying the latest BFG and all of a sudden it's OMG THE F*CKERS ARE TAKING OUR GUNZ AWAY KILL KILL KILL!!!

What you right-wing pinheads don't realize is that by giving away the other rights, it won't matter how many cool shiny guns you have - anyone with an inkling of being a 'revolutionary' will be marginalized and locked away, and the Republicans have done more to grease that path, in the name of "The War on Terror™" than any bleeding heart liberal ever could.

For the record, I think gun control is pointless. It's pretty obvious it doesn't work.

As long as there is a exemption for those that have done military service, I have little problem with this. As always, the devil is in the details.....

I strongly support the section I bolded below.

The Child Gun Safety and Gun Access Prevention Act of
> 2007," H.R.256 ( http://tinyurl.com/3brx43 ) would raise
> the minimum age for the ownership of a semi-automatic rifle
> from 18 to 21. In addition, children under 18 attending a
> gun show must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
> Worse, it calls for fines and jailtime if a child gets a
> hold of your firearm and uses it to cause death or serious
> bodily injury, if you "recklessly disregarded the risk"
> that a child could access your firearm.

EDIT: To be clear, I was only refering to the proposed law above. The others are utter hogwash.

Thom,

I beg to differ. Most of the Constitution bashing was done during the 20th Century at the hands of those who brought us The New Deal and The Great Society. The illegal taxation makes King George's worst pale by comparison. Entitlement programs illegally redistribute the illegal taxes they collect. The Federal Gov't gave away the power to control the money supply to J.P Morgan and his buddies in the form of the Federal Reserve. An elitist ruling class runs the government in such a fashion as to cripple individual freedoms and to hoard power for themselves.

After all that, the citizens of this country continue to elect those who serve themselves and not their constituents. Don't blame Republicans or Democrats. Blame the American people for asking the government to do everything for them at the price of their freedom.

I don't agree with law enforcement and activist judges who trample the Constitution, but disarming people and creating a police state are very obvious means by which to remove the last line of defense of the Constitution. It is a big deal.

Thom, were does the Constitution give Rightts to terrorist and non-Americans?? I keep hearing about the Republicans taking Rightts away, yet who has lost any Rightts, criminals, terrorist, please tell us someone you know who has lost Rightts and what Rightts they have lost, BTW, getting special treatment for taking it up the ass doesn't count. The bleeding heart liberals have been destroying this country from within, they have done tons of damage since the they started smoking in the 60s. Guns are a fundamental Right, tapping the phone lines of an terrorist isn't.

Unless you can buy the kind of weapons the government buys (which we can't, and haven't been), the handgun is useless against them.

Thom is right.

this bit seems to make purfect sense to me:

In addition, children under 18 attending a

Florida has had that law forever. I agreee with the first two although when I was a kid we all had cap guns that looked like 6 shooters and BB guns that looked like Ithaca models 37's and none of us got shot by SWAT teams. The gunshow thing bothers me a lot. As with all other things given up they are hard to get back once they are gone. Why do I collect guns? Why do some people collect PEZ dispensers? I'm not planning for war I just like the art form. Some old guns belong in jewelry stores. It's the form that interests me more than the function. Kinda like women.

My daughters have "owned" their own .22 caliber "semi-automatic" rifles since they were 12 & 13. If any of you lefties have a problem with that, you can kiss my @ss! There are already laws on the books to punish those who commit a crime with a gun (or a knife or a baseball bat or a boxcutter). The creation of new laws is just done to appease and buy votes from the folks who are easily scared by the word "gun" (like Rosie O'donnel).

We use our guns primarily as tools to kill pests and if need be, as home defense. Once again if anyone does not like that, they can kiss my @ss!
