white line paint on car(resubmitted)
i drove my 944 thru a construction area, and it has spray around the wheelwells from the lane change white paint.
how do you remove this stuff, it is thick! daily driver, no fancy paint, in fact it needs paint. its repainted, no clear coat, brown/purple. thanks tom

Well, if it had been fairly well waxed before this happened, I'd say you might be able to get away with clay barring it off. If not and it is tightly adhering I'd start off with the mild white rubbing compound and if that doesn't work, go to the old fashioned hardcore red colored rubbing compound. If none of that works then you're looking at color sanding and polishing. Good luck!

I would try the clar bar or some 3M adhesive remover before pulling out the rubbing compound.

Some kid spray painted a blue streak down the side of my g/f's Lexus (white w/ clear coat) a while back. I used Goo Gone (specifically, not just any cirus cleaner) to remove it (the next day) so it's not even noticable.

The clay bar worked for me in a similar situation.

Clay bar worked for me on some yellow road paint splatter. I used my thumbnail a bit too.

I drove over some spilled paint in my old BMW 2002, it got all over the rim and the side of the car, I used carb cleaner while the paint was still 'tacky' it worked perfect. I think there is some danger of it damaging the paint. But I rinsed it off and rewaxed the car and it was fine.

I would use enamel reducer. Then wash immedietely afterwards.
If that doesn't work carefully try Automotive grade Laquer thinner. s mentioned the quicker you get to it the better. Be careful as centerline paint may contain very small plastic beads to enhance reflection. Try to keep rubbing to a minimum.

I've had good luck with Mother's Caranuba. The paste stuff in the red can.
Clay bars work real well too.
