speed channel sux
Right now on the speed channel (aka nascar professional wrestling of racing channel) , the channel dedicated to speed, motorsports, cars, motorcycles, is .......... EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE!
A lame clint eastwood sanda wretch movie with nothing to do with cars except they drive an old beat up pick up that probably can't hit 70 mph. Who's the programming tard that figured that one out? If I ran that dog and pony show someone would be fired. I'm gonna let them know just exactly how disgusted I am with their lack of a clue. |
+1
Check out IFC. Cool Harvey Keitel movie on , City of Industry.SmileWavy |
This is the e-mail I sent them. I hope I wasn't too subtle:
Who is the tard that decided to put "every which way but loose" on speed channel? You just about put me over the edge with all that lobotomy nascar redneck stuff, but this is the last straw. Couldn't't you find an old road racing film or something? You guys have really lost it. |

Let's not forget all the "paid programming" they have on for most of the day. If anyone lost the phone number to order a bow-flex, just turn on Speed in the morning, it'll be pounded into you for hours on end!!

I seem to recall seeing an advertisement for the Rolex tomorrow...does anyone know what time it's on and if Speed is showing it?

NeckCar Channel

I think it's going to be tape-delayed so they can continue on - uninterrupted - with their 3 week preview of the "World's Greatest Race" - the Daytona 500 ......

I truly HATE nascar channel (speed tv), cannot believe they dumped WRC!! I would like to create a new channel but purchasing rights to other racing series is not cheap and filming some local track events and DIY shows on a LOW budget makes for kinda crappy TV. I've been thinking about this for awhile and if anyone has any ideas I would like to help. Speed is fun SPEED TV SUCKS!!
|
I knew we were in for trouble when they changed the name from "Speedvision" to "The Speed Channel". Too many letters in one word for your average NASCAR fan to deal with...
|
How I long for the good old days of Speedvision. DTM, Legends of Motorsport, Motorsport Mundial, race cars that turned right, race cars with fuel injection, etc... No more. Forget it. When Speedvision first came out, it seemed too good to be true. I guess it was. If only I could find some way to get EUROSPORT in order to rectify the situation.

:)
I miss the WRC as well. And what happened to the full coverage of the Dakar? That was really exciting stuff. I am very disappointed with 95% of their programming. But.........I will watch the Daytona 24 hr event since I can't be there in person. Cheers, Len :) |
I took the Speed Channel Program Survey and voted against NASCAR. Guess I was out voted...
At work the other day I was talking to a group of guys and they asked "Who is your team?" I told them Steelers and they said "no your NASCAR team." I said "I don't watch NASCAR, I have a Porsche." They turned away with a stupid look on their faces. |

I thought the same thing too. |
Not to mention History Channel is getting a bit dumbed down as well! Good tv is really hard to come by these days.
Is there a way for satellite tv to pick up these foreign broadcasts mentioned? I would absolutely LOVE to spend a sunday afternoon watching WRC or Legends of Motorsport in the garage while i work on my 911 to-do list! It would seem that stupid people rule the world by virtue of their purchasing power. |

Micah Edited because I can't believe that was edited out. Gosh Dang it all to Flippen Heck. |
Micah you need to get digital cable. They have secondary History and TLC channels that have old school programming.
|
"EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE"... on a Friday night no less... and they re-ran it a couple of times
Could someone post speed TV's email address please? I also miss WRC... DVR is the only thing that makes speed tv bearable, they do slip in a little real racing between the infotainment. :( I even tried to catch the solstice test drive last night but it was a load of BS. They talked about the car for about five minutes and the rest was fluff... I ended up watching... okay I had a half a bottle of wine in me... Hogan knows best... there I said it. |
Speed DOES suck. And they're cluelss. They've got a wealth of almost free programming in things like car swap meets, assorted runs, DE events, Autocrosses and club meets. They could program a weekly, Chevy Show, Porsche Show, BMW Show, etc. They could program a show for vintage - Chevy, Porsche, BMW, etc. And they miss it ALL!
In my opinion they don't know their potential audience. They seem to pander to the ricers boys and the 'necks only. At least that's my opinon. I would LOVE to have a weekly vintage Porsche hour to look forward to that covered feature cars (many of them would be sourced from here on Pelican), on their build up and restoration. They could follow one (or a Chevy or an MB, or a BMW) from rusty can to final product. Hell, DarlyD's 912 in process on a DIY basis is a reality series in itself. Clueless MoFo's. |
What ?!? you guys dont like UniqueWhips? I hear the next episode they are installing 15 LCD screens and 36inch spinners in a Hummer. How cool is that???

It could of been worse. A few months ago they were running "Viva Knievel"http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...oilet_claw.gif

Let us not forget that wonderfully entertaining and educational show that seems to always be on.....Pinks!

My cable is covered through my condo right now, and with my work schedule the numbers just don't work to cough up the extra dough. I'm out of the canoe club in about 8 months, and the wife and I are moving back to the Seattle side. I plan on going for all the good stuff then.
