Who is this guy? Do any of you know him?
I was on my way to work on the 405 freeway here in the LA area a couple of days ago and came up behind and alongside a nice black Targa with a silver targa bar, lowered slightly, and a duck tail. When I pulled up alongside to give him the thumbs up, he was already looking my way. We gave the enthusiasts nod and I gave a thumbs up (he actually noticed my 996, amazingly) and then I had to get off the freeway. Interestingly, I thought I recognized him from some pics I've seen on Pelican.
I think this was the guy I saw. Does he have a black Targa? Just wondering if I saw a fellow Pelican. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170016867.jpg A terrible pic of his car but it was taken with my phone as I was trying to not miss my exit. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170017598.jpg |
I've seen him several times, the last was at a D&G swap meet in riverside, I think I saw him at pomona once. Nice guy but I can't remember his name.

Isn't that "Animal Chin" from the Bones Brigade ?
|
I think it's Ho Chi Minh.

If he posted a picture of a black man would you say he was Buckwheat?
|
What does it mean? It means he looks like Ho Chi Minh. I don't know if he's indigenous Ainu, Vietnamese or Bhutanese or a 5th generation Filipino, born and raised in Iowa. No racism remotely implied. I look like Boris Becker. Does that mean I'm also a Nazi? Lighten up, Francis.
Oh, and if you post a picture of someone who looks like Buckwheat, I'd probably write something like, "Looks like Buckwheat." But of all the black men I know, none look like Buckwheat. |
Genghis Khan?
|
Whatever. I'm just saying we should go by the "if you met someone in person, would you say that to their face" rule.
If you met this guy and he drove a Porsche and he gave you a thumbs up...would you really tell him you thought he looked like Ho Chi Minh? Or would you be a little more civil? |
Uh, if he asked me who I think he looked like, yes, I'd tell him Ho Chi Minh. In fact, if he was a cool guy, I might even call him Uncle Ho. Better yet, when he gets older, he'll probably look like Col. Sanders. But chances are he'd never ask me who he is and if I know him.

He really does look like Genghis Khan. I bet if Genghis was alive today he'd drive the fastest Porsche around. Uncle Ho, on the other hand, would probably push a cart around.
|
OK then...
This thread took off on a tangent, didn't it? |

I dont know who he is but he has really cool socks

Oh well. It was worth a shot in the dark. I've seen this guy a few times in TRE run Pics and thought he might be a Pelican.
|
I've seen him too at the TRE runs. Seen his car a couple times on the street as well.
Dave B., who looks like a Dave B, might know. Or Jeremy, who happens to look like a guy named Jeremy. |
Judging by pensive the look on his face...
He appears to be a very Wise Man & a Visionary... yet oddly enough, a Seeker destined to walk the Earth One who follows the new Horizon in Search of a Spiritual Nirvana that few mortals ever actually see. A man who, perhaps spent his youth in a Shaolin monastery Studying the teachings of the village Elders... One who upon leaving the monastery faced brutal Betrayal and Persecution by his own people... Which drove him to his Ultimate Quest for personal vindication.. Spiritual Enlightenment, and most importantly The Realization of Truth & Justice for All. |
