How cool is my 930 3D Desktop?
|
Wow. I wasn't sure what to expect, but that is pretty cool.
I am sticking with my current wallpaper, which I snagged off a Pelican post a long time ago. I really like it -- it looks just like my car & while I am at work it constantly reminds me of what I would rather be doing. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170439361.jpg |
How much HP does your VIdeo card need?
heh, seroiusly what kind of resources are needed to run that? |
I just have an ATI 9600XT video card and an AMD 64 bit 3200 CPU... I've seen this run on less powerful systems and it's still very slick and smooth. It has some pretty nifty 3D effects, if ur into that kinda stuff ;)
I run it under SUSE 10.2 Linux ;) |
I used to tinker with linux a bit, several years back. At one point I "upgraded" one of my copies of Linux to a newer copy and they added a bunch of graphics stuff in, nothing as spiffy as the 3d thing above, but little stuff. I immediately noticed that my pc slowed down a bit. It made me think that maybe some MS engineers were coding for linux to even the playing field. That stuff is cool to me for about 10 minutes, then I just want functional. I don't need my icons to resize as I scroll over them or things to spin and flash. I've never found that stuff helps me get work done any faster.
But it is very cool. Perfectly suited for a movie or something. |
