I need a in dash cd player....

I need a new in dash cd/mp3 player and wanted your guys opinion. Looked at Cruchfield, but want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Don't want to leave any features on the table. It's not for the 911....

I want:
cd/mp3 disc capable
ipod compatible
usb port, I like this idea for using a jump drive or plugging the ipod directly into
wife wants to add a 6 disc changer, but I'm not sold since I can use the ipod or jump drive

This will be going in my truck, so what kind of power do I need?

I've had good luck with Sony and Alpine in the past, but what else is out there?

Thanks!

i have had bad luck with both sony and alpine.

my current eclipse (10yrs and counting) deck is indestructable, and is what i would get next.

i like my new blaupunkt bermuda from crutchfield - it's black and not gawdy with all that gizmo technology..gives it a factory appearance. don't know if it does at that extra stuff you want though..don't have an ipod myself, so..

Never heard of Eclipse.....should I have?

yea, they make a great head unit. at least i know they used to. it isnt fancy, and has all the stuff you need. a friend has one in his 911 and he loves it. if i had to pick a bad thing; the security system. if it is stolen, or you disconnect the battery. the radio will not function. you need to stick in your "security" CD. basically you pick a compact disc, that you insert to let the unit know that "the owner is at the helm". i picked some obscure jean loves jezebel disc, that would leave me screwed if i lose it. i have the unit in my 4x4 and i have gotten really into the rough back country, and it rarely skips.

granted i am old school. the last time, i got into this stuff, i was buying PUNCH 150 amps and stuff. admittedly i dont know what is out there anymore. both my sony and alpine stuff, quit ejecting the CDs.

This topic was recently covered in this forum, I don't remember the exact subject line, but it went on for multiple pages. Lots of good info and pics of head units in it.

Try Discount OEM Radios. THey sell units from original vehicles. Personally, I hate installing Crutchfield "juke box" style units that simply beg to be ripped off.
