A Very Pretty Man

If this gets wide enough release I'm sure we'll hear from John Edwards campaign that it was intentional self-parody.

tabs 02-05-2007 04:29 PM

John Edwards: a trial lawyer who made his money suing doctors for children born with cerebral palsy--he got an "expert" to testify that it was a condition caused by negligent doctors (it is not).

He is the poster child for everything that is wrong with the legal system. He made himself rich putting doctors out of business and consequently restricting access to quality medical care in his home state.

I don’t agree they all do it – not like that. It’s the difference between preparing and preening. But it hardly matters. I’d get more exercised if I thought this particular fraud (the phoniest populist since Lonesome Rhodes in “A Face in the Crowd”) had a chance at winning his own state nevermind the nomination. But he doesn’t. He’ll lose and lose badly. He’ll have to settle for a millionaire’s life in a mansion, and the dreaded loss of those boyish good looks.

Ah, it is the return of Breck Girl. Local boy makes good (?).

He couldn't even bring NC home for Kerry in '04. This dog won't hunt (to borrow the NRA's anti-Kerry ad from '04). Most of the locals see right through this guy. He's about as popular with NC natives as Duke basketball.

And one of his stunts was to speak to the jury, as if he were channeling the dead child. Disgusting individual.

Note that he generally represented only the parents of deceased children, and rarely if ever the parents of children living with the condition. Why?

The jury always gives a much bigger award (and thus to Breck Girl a much bigger contingent fee) to the parents of the deceased children, versus the parents of survivors.

Rather perverse, considering the surviving children presumably need life-long care...

I'm sure with Breck Girl in the White House, some real progress will be made on tort reform.

Yes, and here's proof (best ending) ...but to what degree?

Check out the latest from Breck Girl, courtesty of the WSJ:

Quote:

When NBC's Tim Russert asked John Edwards on Sunday if he, as president, would accept a nuclear-armed Iran, the silver-tongued lawyer got tongue-tied: "I -- there's no answer to that question at this moment. I think that it's a -- it's a -- it's a very bad thing for Iran to get a nuclear weapon. I think we have -- we have many steps in front of us that have not been used. We ought to negotiate directly with the Iranians, which has not, not been done. The things that I just talked about, I think, are the right approach in dealing with Iran. And then we'll, we'll see what the result is. . . . I think -- I think the -- we don't know, and you have to make a judgment as you go along, and that's what I would do as president."
Where can I make a campaign contribution to the Silky Pony? This guy is what America needs.

Edit: Please don't think less of my home city and state b/c of this idiot.

My son was at NC State in the late '90's when Edwards came to speak. My son was / is pretty apolitical so why he went to hear him I don't fully understand. Be that as it may, his comment to me was that as soon as the speech was over, he went back to his apartment to take a shower because he was worried that the sleaze would stick to him.
