There is nothing about any car I miss. However, what I did in the car or where I went are the real experiences.
And that leads me to comment on this:

Yep! Think about it...the latest "hit car of the month" of EXCELLENCE magazine's coverage of the R Gruppe gathering in May, down in Californicate? It was a car that arrived there in an enclosed trailer. Wow...what a thrill this must have been for a gruppe that likes to say it's composed of road runners... Not picking on the Gruppe specifically here...you see this in ALL areas of automotive enthusiasm. From the cars that ran in the dry lakes back in the 40's, to a car that won Lemans 10 or 20 years ago. It's become all show...like a fiberglass '37 Ford car featured in HOT ROD sporting fake sprayed on "rust"...it's all show. To me, that's sad. To others, it's "way cool". To each his own. The King has no clothes. He doesn't need them, right? :D

Not much experience to be had trailering a car. If it's the green RSR I'm thinking you're speaking of (I cancelled Excellence), then in the owner's defense I have to say the car was brand new and perhaps not completely sorted, or broken in. It did go on the runs in Monterey and has been on several since. But, when it arrived in Monterey, it was so fresh that all the screws weren't there (the horn grilles were missing a screw and there were a couple of other items that needed attention).
While I agree that cars should be driven, generally in SoCal it's not as fun as it used to be. Nothing will make you tired of your special car than sitting in 15MPH traffic for an hour and that's a daily occurrence for most around here these days if you get one any freeway or major commuter hiway.
