I don't think I'd ever part with my 911. But I would consider also acquiring one of about three other cars. A Cobra replica, a 550 Spyder replica (with a built 4 or Porsche flat 6), and odly enough a Triumph TR3.

Great cars. Crude, loud, rough, but balanced and a whole hell of a lot of fun. Simple. Fix it with a crescent wrench and a screwdriver (and a hammer). Drive it in a 1000 mile race without worrying ... if you did the prep right beforehand.

Completely different from a Porsche, but ... similar in an odd way.

But that vette is still a GM...hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh...!

Realistically, I'd be tempted by the Lotus Elise.

Setting reality aside, a Miura.

I have always wanted to build a Cobra replica, or just take over someone's unfinished project.

I would take the Lotus in Pretty Woman.. and i only know that car because my ex watched that movie almost every day.

John,

I've got a 1976 911S I will trade you, PM me and we'll get the details patched out:D

Just saw an opportunity and had to pounce.

I can't think of a car equally priced I would swap a 911 for. Doubtful, but possibly I would consider trading a 911 for a fastback mustang, or a stingray vette, but I doubt I would do it.

Dream cars I would trade for now that is a different matter all-together. My first choice would be a 904 GTS. I just LOVE those cars. I could probably spend a few days thinking about my dream garage, but if I ever win the lotto a 904 will be at the top of the shopping list.

The New Camaro Z28

Somewhat equal value has to be invoked or otherwise this is just an exercise in fantasy. As dueller pointed out, the 911s tend to be modestly priced for what they are. The only thing I would give up a 911 for would be a 12 cyl Ferrari, any 12 cyl Ferrari. The 330 series is modestly priced compared to to other Ferrari models. One would work fine for me.

Since my 911 has been in the family since '85 I would not be able to part with it for any other car. Its just proven to be more reliable than any other car I've ever owned.

I am in the process of selling my 83 cab to upgrade to a 993 C2S or C4S I dont think I'll need another car for along while after that.

Civic - driving would then only be transportation

ckissick 02-15-2007 07:29 AM

To stay near equal value, only a Beck Spyder, maybe. I'd have to drive it first.

ros74911 02-15-2007 08:13 AM
