I think I may have to start a new thread when my car has its new motor.
Haven't taken that run (yet) but last year we took a run leaving out of La Canada. We headed up Angeles Crest Highway and over the top. Milt was there, Slodave, Dave (TRE Cup) and a lot of other guys. I know we didn't end up near Mt. Baldy we wound up over the hill and came down headed for Palmdale. Roads were pretty wide open and a lot of safe fun. Of course, I got separated from the group somewhere near Hwy 14 but still had a good time nonetheless. There is a picture thread on here somewhere.

Thinkfloyd14:

Glendora Mt. Road to Mt. Baldy is the most fun/most interesting drive I have been on in SoCal. I love it!

Here is a photo of the "one lane" section. It is amazing, but one has to be very mindful of every blind corner and just assume there will be big F150 coming in the other direction, a motrocyclist clipping the apex (complete idiots), or a bicyclist.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1179885290.jpg

And, yes, there is a double standard when it comes to criticizing others on Pelican's Board. I was harshly criticized by some people for stating that bicycle traffic is getting heavy on Glendora Mt. Road and that it is foolish for them to ride a section of road that is not safe to share with cars under any conditions. Most of my fellow Porsche owners assumed I was some reckless out of control maniac that was going to give other Porsche owners a bad name. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I can tell you one thing, I don't drive anywhere near as fast as most people do on Pelican Board organized fun runs. I have been on a couple and there were some people driving way over their heads. Crossing the yellow line is plain irresponsible.

All the Mulholland threads have been great reading and I really do appreciate the "good old days" for what they were. I also appreciate the experience of driving quickly, but well within the limits of my self, my car, and the changing road conditions.

Kevin, Thanks for the invite, too bad I only saw it today(tuesday)

No one showed for at the Starbucks, and I did pre run to check for cops and everything. It was fun driving back though, solo mission.

Supercar Sunday was cool. So many Lamboghinis, not enough Porsches. I guess you "show" a Lambo and drive a Porsche.(guy has a Porsche for a year, and is already an eliteist)

Hope everyone had a good Memorial day.

KevinP73 05-29-2007 09:25 AM

Sorry to have posted so late Jim. It really was just a last minute thing we decided to do. People drifted in and out slowly throughout the night. Next time we'll give more notice. It was great to have those who made it by. Thanks to all for visiting.

North of LA, past Palmdale. Actually outside of Rosamond.
