Adam Adamant Lives

I'm very fed up with the pap that is being offered on tv. I'm reacting by buying old favourite films and tv serials.
Tonight I watched the first couple of episodes of "Adam Adamant lives" the adventures of a Victorian gentleman hero in the London of the swinging sixties.
Most of the acting seems very stilted now and the whole thing seems really camp. It seemed so cool when I watched it the first time round (I must have been six or seven ), but it's still a lot of fun even today.
Any other fans here of Gerald Harper playing Adam Adamant and his sidekick Miss Jones? They were intended to be the BBC competition to ITV's "the Avengers", I loved that one too

"The Avengers" were so far beyond most television productions in wit. Even the names of the two main Characters are plays on words...

"M Appeal"

"John Steed"

What was that other show with the lost space craft and the robot "Krydon"? All I remember is:

"It's cold outside
No kind of atmosphere
All alone, more or less......"

Also very good writing........

Of course, my all time Brit fave is "Doctor Who". Brilliant writing and $3.95 per episode for special effects!!

The best Doctor ever...... Tom Baker!
Now if I could just find someplace to order Bassets Jelly Babies, I'd be set :)

Red Dwarf..... I love that show. PBS had a British Television night every Saturday. My sister and I never missed it when we were in high school.

I'm also a big fan of The Red Green Show. Same station, that was father and son time for my pop and me.

Not forgetting Miss Jones!
