Flyer at University
I work out at the local university's Rec Center. One of the flyers on a billboard had the following statement at the bottom:
"Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Institution that Encourages Diversity--printed on recycled paper with soy ink." I couldn't help but notice how many PC/left-leaning buzzwords they had packed into that statement. I also couldn't help but notice what to a rational person would be the contradiction between "Equal Opportunity" and "Affirmative Action". |
There can be no equality when quotas are involved.
|
At what point didja' rip down the flyer? :D
|
isnt that an oxymoron?
|
Makes for good toilet paper.:D
|
Printed on recycled toilet paper using urine. Much more emotional.

Legion, you and I disagree on some things but here I have to agree with both your observations. Equal Opportunity would seem on its face to be antithetical to Affirmative Action. I understand. I also understand that some folks believe that certain groups do not have the same opportunities as you and I, even when the playing field for a specific job appears "level." But again, I see the apparent contradiction between these terms.
And of course, I would also agree this sentence is a dense collection of currently popular buzzwords. |
The energy it takes to comply with all that wastes more time and money than any crime times 2!

Perfect example of vulnerable yet unknowing minds manipulated by leftist acedemia. Those who can't do, teach.

The UM just settled a 10 year old anti-affirmitive action case(reverse discrimination), which would allow further plaintiffs. http://www.michigancivilrights.org/jengratzbio.html
'Course they still openly discriminate against accepting Michigan residents for those fatcat out-of-staters. |
And those that can't teach, gripe!!
(taking the 'old saw' to a new level) |
