Firefox browser question?
I have noticed that when using my Firefox browser that one important feature is not working.
When I see an image on the net that I want to save...I just right click and select save as. The problem is that the images file extension is dropped and I must type it in. The file extension pull-down is also blank. Ideas for a fix as I can't find anything on the Firefox support site. Maybe it's an XP thing more than a Firefox thing. |
Another firefox question. How do you save cookies with FF? I am formatting the HD on my laptop and starting over and want to save the data.
Bookmarks are done but cannot figure out how to export or save the cookies so far... Joe |
K9 - I just tried it (on the Pelican BBS) and had no problem, but then I'm usning W2K. Did notice, however, that what pops is the standard windoze file dialog so it is not something included in FireFox and is very likely one of your xp settings. Not familiar with setting those params, so can't help there - sorry.
Joe - Don't allow cookies on my system, but since they're text files you should be able to back them up to disk and then copy directly to whatever directory they need. I'd do a search for files/folders named "cookie*" and see where they are all hiding out. Jim |
Joe:
This is where you will find all the info for your user profile/s for FireFox. C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles Replace "Administrator" with the appropriate login name. Dave |
thanks Jim I will keep plugging away at a fix.

K9 - there are lots of guys here who know xp and have a better handle of how FireFox interfaces with windoze. I'm sure they'll pop in with info. I have pretty much locked my systems down, so have had little need to deal with lots of that.

Dave,
Got it, thanks much! Wish that Firefox made it as easy as IE with cookies, but then if I wanted to put up with IE I would not have gone to Firefox. Joe |
