How we really support the troops
Should be required reading for W., Dick and the entire legislative branch of the government...
As usual, the Secretary of the Army blamed it on NCO's failure to do their duty.... http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/columns/shoptalk_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003548374 |
that's not a priority.
here's something that is... the 592 Million $ embassy in Baghdad, the largest such embassy on the planet at 104 Acres, the size of a small fortress. "setting up shop". "support the troops" only sounds good in speeches. our gov'ment is run by a bunch of a$$hos. your tax $$ at work. |
The author; Joe Galloway...................his keyboard shoots flames.
I like this guy's style. http://rs79.vrx.net/works/photoblog/...11/flamest.jpg |

Respectfully.....People should read the article I mentioned elsewherein the latest "Discover" magazine about the number and severity of injuries in the ME and what the current and future costs are. It is sad and under-reported to the public. These folks need and deserve the best we can give them. Article is called "Dead Men Walking".
|
You guys REALLY want this to be another Vietnam.
|
No solutions to the problems . . .just pull out, and leave. . . while taking fire.
Let Iraq "go Taliban" . . or Iranian. . .or... real fwd thinking, guys. --like a Dove . ..or is that a pigeon? |

I, for one, do NOT want it to be another "Vietnam".
Island...the article, in part, shows that today we can save the life of combatants that in previous wars could have died, and many of them, due to IUDs are coming back with severe brain damage and will require lifelong care; some outpatient, some constant. It is something that is not reported on very often because it is "uncomfortable". Something to consider before any of us "waves the flag" without making a personal sacrifice to not only "support the troops" over there but suport them when they come back as damaged goods. We have far too many armchair combatants. |

Thanks MGuy, I was responding to on-ramp and Jarreds posts, not the article.
the Liberal dogma is being spooled up to make this ME effort FAIL big time. |

Now I know. The picture is an example of the forgotten ones. Living with some black mold pales in comparision. I have to ask, did you read the article fintstone? To call it a political argument shows everything we need to know about you. Support the troops not a political party, or are we asking too much of you? |
I see nothing in the picture to be ashamed for. A case of love overlooking disfigurement. The person is still the same person inside.
Are injuries like that to go into the "inconvenient truth" category? |

Who knows, the camera likely clicked when someone said to her "is that a stain on your dress?" The bigger point is, that photo was not chosen to support "love overlooking disfigurement". To pretend/claim otherwise is just completely disingenuous. |
Why don't you guys cut the crap argue about who has the bigger dick.
That's all these these political pissing matches really boil down to. You all line up on either side of the fence and call each other names, what a waste of bandwidth. As far as supporting the troops my friends in the armed service tell me they get nothing but respect everywhere they go (as it should be) even to the point of getting applause when they walk through airports in uniform. |
