NASCAR AAA 500 - Ooops they did it again...

8 laps from the finish, big crash. Another fantastic finish? ;)

Glad Reutiman is OK. That was a VERY hard hit.

VaSteve 02-25-2007 04:47 PM

I would have liked to see the "debris" that cause the caution with 25 to go... I'd like to disprove the theory floating around...

That crash was scary.

Last year at Joliet, there was "debris" on the track with 15 or so laps to go. I just so happened to have a 800-2000mm lens on my camera. I scanned the whole track and watched the track crew. I didn't see any "debris".

I don't see how this was a "bs" ending. That was a pretty hard hit for a "homer" moment.

That is a long time to go round and round though...

not sure about pitting for tires with 8 to go though.

This must be the racing that some love to hate...after every nascar race, sure as rain in Oregon, somebody will make a post saying how bad it was....hey guys, I heard a rumor that there is an off switch on a TV...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE LEADING THE POINTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm excited. And I'd like to see the debris from the 2nd to last caution also. And I say David R. was out.

It was a little concerning to see him with his head laying on the wheel like that. Glad he was OK - I did find it kind of stupid for his spotter to be yelling "big crash". I think that was pretty obvious to Reutiman since he was THE big crash!

I assumed it is a channel that the crew chief and others on the team can hear. But, yea, that was an intense moment.

And they are still looking for the debris from that phantom debris caution.

I think it's human emotion of the spotter...just babbling away...didn't look like it even registered for the driver for a second or two...

Speaking of babbling, does Darrelll Waltrip have anything *interesting* to say? Last week it was "I've seen fire and I've seen rain..." this week it was some other song quote that sounded equally stupid...

I didn't know there was a race today until I saw this thread.

From what I am reading, maybe if they had not bunched the cars back up with 25 to go with a "debri" caution this wreck may have not happened. Just speculating.

20 Days until Melbourne. :D

I didn't watch the race. Reutiman is a local boy, I've seen his dad and grandfather race short tracks around here (Tampa). His dad owns a small body shop and his grandfather has a race shop behind his house. David is no rich kid.

Do they have a driver with the nickname "Superfly" yet?
