Another cool gun thread
I've had so much fun with my Ruger Mark III 22/45 in .22LR, I decided that I needed to add a .45 1911 for bullseye competition.
So, I found exactly what I was looking for, built by a local gunsmith who caters to bullseye shooters. Built on a Springfield Armory frame, it features a National Match upper section, Kart barrel, Bomar match sights, skeletonized carbon fiber trigger, and a lot of exacting work to accurize the gun. It shoots very tight groups and I love the finish. The slide is polished to a mirror finish and the lower section has a metalloy finish that contrast nicely with the slide and grip. Beautiful weapon.

Very nice. Looks like a very useful gun, with your gunsmith showing tasteful restraint along with an understanding of what is actually important on a 1911. Perhaps more importantly, what is not. Well done.

Nice Iron!
A piece anyone would be proud to have in the collection! Congrats. |
