The kid has a much better handle on things than the rest of you. USC students spend a lot of nightlife time DT and know it well. DT, Koreatown and the couple of miles of Wilshire in between are where hipness and fun is in L.A. these days, period. The westside blows, you could die of boredom there. And tabs is just kidding, or actually living in 1972 or something. The mass-transit system in L.A. rocks big-time, (especially if you live DT), I can take the train from my apt. to the airport for $3.00 and I live in K-town. You would not even need a car living in DT L.A., but owning one is no problem either. DT L.A. is beautiful. |

Yeah, Denis pretty much nailed it. Downtown is where it's is. It's a true cultural hub. What the hell is Long Beach famous for? A friggin' outdated passenger ship and a wooden plane that never even flew? |

Those are actually the cool things about LB, and they are out in the water. You don't want to be on land there. What's that old saying? "If I owned hell and Long Beach, I'd live in hell and rent out LB..." ;) :D |

That said, I think urban living is cool. Enjoy it! |

Hey now take it easy on Long Beach, they have done a great job redeveloping downtown and the water front, a lot of people in my area go over there to party... (BUT THE PARKING SUCKS... sorry, just had to vent... I used to get validated parking now it $14 to park at hooters) Anyone here really able to say there are no gangs or drug dealers in their town? Thinkfloyd, sounds like you got a good handle on things. As long as you know where not to go downtown you are just fine. Edit: The Met lofts are half a block from the Staples center/convention center, if you dig going to big concerts, sporting events, etc. that would be way cool. Haven't been able to get an address on the biscuit lofts yet. |
