Future Cars on Discovery Channel
http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/future-car/about/about.html
Anyone else watch this show? I watched it for a little while last night. I had been looking forward to seeing it and I must say I was a little disappointed. IMO all of the "designers" were simply artists who could draw what they thought a car would LOOK like in the future. What every happened to Form Follows Function. Not a single one of these "Future Cars" was in the least bit functional. I was complaining to my wife that every one had barely enough room for the people let alone carry anything. Also it struck me as funny that they were all based on "sports car" looks. There is a reason that not every one drives a sports car and it ain't price. They just are not practical for a person who can only buy one car. I was hoping that they were going to focus more on the technology and while there was some tidbits in the show, the majority of it was focused on outlandish looks. There is a reason that cars still look the way they do for the average people mover and it has nothing to do with not being able to create these silly shapes.....

I saw the first ten minutes then fell asleep on the couch, not that it was boring. I'll be taping it next time it's on so I can just watch the interesting spots, it looked pretty good, I was just exhausted.
The "intelligent cars" part reminded me of this video: Did You Know; Shift Happens - Globalization; Information Age http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljbI-363A2Q&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Epelicanparts%2Ecom%2Fsh owthread%2Ephp%3Fs%3D%26postid%3D3129042
