Who said this...

Can anyone guess from whom this quote originated?
Quote:
Our greatness depends upon our patriotism, and our patriotism is hardly encouraged when we cannot take pride in the highest public institutions, institutions that should transcend all sectarian, regional, and commercial conflicts to fortify the publics's allegiance to the national community.
Answer tomorrow if no one answers correctly.

Perhaps, but the quote is from someone's book.

It's from his book, Worth Fighting For wherein he reveals more of his authoritarian sociofascist nature.

There's an excellent article, where I found the quote, in the new issue of Reason magazine, "Be Afraid of President McCain - The frightening mind of an authoritarian maverick".

Where did you read it?

I saw it an article a couple of months ago suggesting McCain's role model was Roosevelt.

Teddy, that is

Yeah, he says that in one of his books, apropos since Teddy Roosevelt was a diagnosable bipolar personality; not to mention a horrendous authoritarian.

If he picked up a sax, he'd likely be president

Doesn't he have the same "no sax" disorder that Bob Dole has?

Attempting to make sense out of the above, yes, McCain is diagnosable with mental health pathology.

To get back on track here, I think there's a clear list of unacceptable presidential candidates, for which a new thread is in order.

It's interesting what the media is doing to McCain; two-faced bugger.

He bad-mouths a D or R, then races to them to apologize.

Don't know if it's true or not, but the perception is that it's not presidential. And if the media is attacking someone, they are likely a formidable foe.

McCain lost my vote when he threw in with W who absolutely was party to the "crazy" crap Rove hit him with. Lost all my respect at that point.

He will never get the nomination over Hillary. Oh wait, he's on the Republican ticket. Sorry, synaptic misfire.
