Wink Damn you people and your cool replicas!!!

Damn you people with your cool replicas!

I just got the most recent 911 & Porsche World in the mail today, which is full of early 911 content, including a "replica" ST and a nice write-up on the Midwest R-Gruppers traveling 'cross country for the anual meeting.

So why am I cursing y'all? Because right now, as I sit in my living room, I want to sell the Boxster and spend the money on my SC again. I'd managed to go all Fall and even Winter enjoying the Boxster and pretty much ignoring the 911 (..well, trying to sell it..). But now, the wheels are spinning again (so to speak), and my dreams of owning a unique 911 are coming back to haunt me. Dammit! I really wanted to simplify my life! Now look what you people have done!!!

..*sigh*..

What do you guys do to get through the winter duldrums? I'm sure when the sun comes out to warm us again and I can put summer tires back on the Boxster and drop the top, I'll forget all about these dreams. (..well, at least they'll go back to being "long term plans"..) But right now I'm suffering from "too much time to daydream".

Hey, Doug, I have a Boxster and an '88. Almost the same set up. Boxsters are relatively maintenace free, so why is there a problem spending small sums for small improvements to the SC? I have scored some great deals just looking on Pelican used parts. One man's ceiling is another man's floor.

Doug, I know what you're going through. Around the local Pelican scene here in NorCal, I am know as Maybe-so, the teeter totter. One day, I want to sell either the SC or Carrera for a Boxster S. Next day, sell a 911 for an S2000. Third day, going back to loving 911s again. Right now, I just want to get my SC back on the road.

Uh-oh....Doug is getting restless.

Again.

Arrghhh!!

Hiya Doug! I'm fighting the duldrums by ordering more parts for Red. M&K, Fabspeed bypass, and Wong Chip are inbound as are the wire harness adapters for my H4's. Also, picked up an oil filter and a case of Castrol's finest 20/50 dinosaur blend.

The thaw is upon us and I want to be ready to roll!!!

You can't have Millie (a.k.a. Foxy Brown) back!

BTW: She goes under the knife this next week. Enitre suspension and engine.

It must be difficult. That SC is in great shape.

I have to agree with Milt. I can't see dumping either one. Although I have been tempted to let the 986 go for a 987

The secret's out. We've all been wondering when (if) you'd figure it out. The key to any good 911 project.....is having a Boxster for a stablemate.

What's the deal with the rear wheels that don't match the fronts?

I have an SC in the garage, and a Boxster in the driveway. I keep telling the wife I will sell the SC, but it just doesn't seem to a happen.

Porsche Crest Yaaa! Keep'm Both!

Hey Doug....Keep'm Both!

We had some photographers from 911 & Porsche World visiting from England down hear in So Cal for the Irvine Cars and Coffee a few weeks back. They said they might do a write up. Hopefully they mention something in the next issue.

I wish my wife was interested in driving stick...no such luck. Maybe that is a good thing cause I would always be left behind (She likes Red one). Still I do enjoy driving my 70 911.

Hope you can fix-up the SC the way you want. I also get impatient at times. Things will turn around soon.

Best of luck and ....Keep'm Both...I did!

....Uh.Uh...no honey...I'm just talking on the phone...Nothing
Pheeew...that was close.

Paul

No problem with small amounts, but I'm dreaming big here...

You're right about the Boxster, which is a large part of why I bought it. And if I can keep both, I will. But in terms of payments (I didn't pay cash for either of them), the Boxster is two and a half times what the 911 is. That's some good money that could go to my big dreams.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday, so I suspect it'll hit the newstands soon (if not already). It has the new Cayenne on the cover.
