mega millions lottery $355 million, what would you do if you win?

just a fun thing to think about what you would do if you won that kind of $$
I would:
pay off everyone in my family's mortgage
donate some to my school
finish my degree
buy a nice modest home
a few cars (always wanted a hemi car and a vintage Ferrari)
travel
still workSmileWavy

I'd stop ******* around here

stevepaa 03-06-2007 10:07 AM

I would not pay off all the mortgages, they need the deduction.
Set up generation skipping trust funds for the oldest members of the family.
Set up college trust funds for the youngest.
Give money for house down payments for all the rest.

Take them all on family vacations once a year to great spots of my choosing. They can come if they want all expenses paid, otherwise stay home.

Never work for someone else ever again.

Why 2 chicks at once of course!

alf 03-06-2007 10:17 AM

Give half of my net away to charity and spend time and effort doing this right ala BillG.
Set up educational trust funds for kids, nephews and nieces. Tuition only for Undergrad and Masters.
Get a nice vacation home in Hawaii with free access for close friends and family.
Invest the rest.
I'd probably still work, having too much fun.

It's a cheap price for a nice fantasy, until you check the numbers of course.:D

Gene Wilkes 03-06-2007 10:31 AM

I think its more about 'what I wouldn't do!' Actually, I'd live at a higher 'poverty' level!

Joeaksa 03-06-2007 10:34 AM

Go over to Florida and play with some of Byron's lady friends for a while...

Buy a 917, see every Formula One race in style....

Several things come to mind.

Nostril Cheese 03-06-2007 10:41 AM

buy a warehouse for all my new toys

machine shop to build my own car

Gulfstream, then hire Joe to fly it/teach me to fly it.

Special wishes Porsche

throw a huge party, get drunk

VINMAN 03-06-2007 10:44 AM

I'd buy a Brand new Cayman,or 997, and drop a small block Chevy in it...

Just to piss everyone off..:D

URY914 03-06-2007 10:54 AM

I would start buying every 914 that comes up for sale. Put them in a climate controlled warehouse and just wait.

I'd also do some other stuff. Like get a hitman to take out OJ.

I wouldn't tell a soul other than my lawyer, let him collect for me and send me a check each month. Before I claimed my prize, I'd change my phone numbers, put my house up for sale and live in a hotel until I was sure no one could find me other than close family and maybe a few friends.

MR Hughes?:D Howard?

Porsche-O-Phile 03-06-2007 11:11 AM

I'd buy Paris Hilton.

And her little dog.

And my cats would be well-fed that night.

Read up on what some jackpot winners have gone through. Charities hunt them down and hound them, long lost relatives of dubious origin resurface, paternity claims pop up, everyone has their hand out. Sure I'd give some money away. But I'd do it anonymously. I don't want fame, just fortune.

NICKG 03-06-2007 11:15 AM

yea..i heard about the guy in WV

URY914 03-06-2007 11:17 AM

I have a $ planner friend that has a few clients have have won the FL lottery. He said you have to do the following in the first few days of winning...

1. Tell no one at first.
2. Get a lawyer.
3. Start looking for a house in a gated commumity even if you just rent it for now.
4. Look for a private school for the kids.
5. Get a new cell phone and don't give out the number.

Exactly. BTW, are you the same Paul Woodbury who graduated from the Lawrenceville School with me in 1989?
