Flaming fastpat, et al. is getting old
 

At the risk of igniting some flames myself, I'd like to state that reading the snide, clever jabs directed at fastpat and others is pitiful, "funny-if-you're-a-crony", bullying type behavior.

My subconscious automatically puts a "50% off" price tag on the other, maybe serious posts from these pelicans and I may not be alone.

Does pat throw back some crap too? Probably, but not as much and not unprovoked. He seems to take it on the chin and try to respond by clarifying his argument.

I know I can change the channel and choose not to read certain threads or posters, but improving the civility of this board is a worthy goal and ignoring the crap does nothing for anyone.

Have been here since prior to the Millenium. No amount of common sense / civility training changes a damn thing around here.

FastPaster and all the other flamers will eventually go somewhere else when they no longer get a rise out of anyone here. It's what they live for... and to see their vile spouted in print.

Have seen lots of their ilk come and go. Be patient.

This reminds me of Sen. Hollings's reply when asked to run a more civil campaign - "Kiss my fanny!"

Pat makes up for his nuttiness with an encyclopedic knowledge of constitutional history and guns. We're happy to have him, I'm happy to flame him and happy to read the good stuff he writes too. Oh, and kiss my fanny.

Sorry but -1000. Only thing is does is get the Slopast'ers ego inflated again. While might I agree with about 5% of the things he pastes, the way he advoctates the violent overthrow of our govt, killing of our active duty soldiers anywhere in the world and all sorts of other wonderful things way overshadow any good he accidently posts about. All the while he hides away in the SC mountains, living on US Army retirement pay.

Someday we will know why he hates the military and all authority and bet that the story will be a very interesting one.

So disagree with him intelligently or don't reply to him at all. Calling him a nutjob sounds stupid, petty, and childish.

The contrast with the technical board is striking--and maybe OT is the outlet for childish behavior, which is fine and good. But childish behavior and posting the flamepat remarks are 2 different things.
