Added protein...(Coke is actually a pretty good maranade fro beef and Phesant when mixed with a few other things, it will also take rust off bolts and hulls of war ships)

Mix Coke with chlorine pool shock and get far away. Don't do it near anything you don't want damaged. You'll get a cloud of very noxious chlorine gas which will attack your lungs and mucous membranes.

good as a cheap and effective way to 'bomb' roaches, spiders and any other bug in your garage or machine shed.

All true, but there are better things for both marinade and rust removal.
