How do you pronounce fuchs?
I had a moto-x bike years ago called PUCH
it was pronounced like pook--is it the same for FUCHS? |
i always thought it was a little softer.
Foosh |
This has come up several times and could have been answered by using the "search" button at the top right of your screen.
The answer is that it is pronounced like: Fooks. |
Deutsche word meaning fox. We say fox; they say"foox" with long "o".

The end-CH is very gutteral, hard to describe. Fooxs is close enough for FUCHS. Singular is the same as plural since it's a brand-name: 1 Fuchs wheel 2 Fuchs wheels. For the animal fox (Fuchs) it's different: 1 Fuchs 2 Fuechse Want to try some French? How about the car "Peugot"? :) Can be fun. Pjoogat? :D :D |
poo zho....
Or would that be zwei? And what do you mean by "try French?" sounds kinda personal.....................:D Foox rock. |
Is there a difference between Fooks and Foox? Sounds the same to me.
|
Nope. Yep. :)

Yes. But you spelled it wrong. It's Schurche. Pronounced "schurcha", as in Porsche. |

Fuchs kinda rhymes with cooks, books, looks, rooks nooks, hooks, brooks - though may vary depending on where in Germany you are I believe.
If only one wheel, it's one Fuchs, not one Fuch. |
Wrong.

[B]I believe that PUCH was a bike produced in Austria. The end-CH is very gutteral, hard to describe. Yes it was made in Austria (some of them) with Renolds 531s. My first real racing bike I rode in USCF races as a junior in the mid 80's just like Connie Carpenter's. Same ugly green color. For those old rodies, remember her? Jeff |
