Get your news from print - TV? Stick with Jack...

Stop watching the news. Seriously.

I just returned from a business trip and spent some time watching news in the hotels, airports, etc. Mainly 'cause I forgot to bring a book with me. I forgot what TV news was like, particularly south of the border (that's the US for me).

Stop it - it's very, very bad for you. It's all flash, bang and catch your attention - tempest in a teacup. Much ado about nothing.

The world would be a much more calm place if we all just read the paper and used the tube strictly for T, A and mindless entertainment.

Really, stop it now - otherwise you'll grow hair in the palms of your hands and need a micardis prescription before you hit 40.

I get my news from Fint, Joe and Fastpat.

Seriously.....I turn on the news while I'm getting dressed in the morning, to get the traffic and weather reports. For actual news, I read newspapers.

Television news programs are not in the business of informing. Heck....they're not even in the business of entertaining. They're in the business of SELLING. Anybody who watches any for-profit television news program thinking they are getting an objective presentation.......well PM me for a great deal on real estate in Southern Florida. I also have a nice bridge for sale in New York City. Great income potential.

What used to be the McNeil-Lehrer report was good and is still good. But television news simply cannot give you the volume or detail or objective tone that you get with every newspaper.

Also...television news shows won't catch the drippings when you change the oil in your 911. Newspapers will.

I spend a lot of face time with hotel TVs too. TV news is only good for weather reports & even that is sensationalized.

Tornadoes! Hurricanes! Mudslides!
