I think that was part of an airshow. Anyone else remember?

found it

This happened in Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA in the summer of 1994. Pilots were practicing before the Airshow the following day

What happened was the pilot of the A/C tried to pull closed following a go around at a little more than 200 feet. Normally, the max bank angle for such a maneuver should NEVER exceed 65 degrees. However, the PIC, trying to avoid overflying a prohibited area on base, banked it up to 90 degrees, stalled the aircraft, and crashed.

Maybe Google "B52 Airshow crash." I don't know why anyone would intentionally crash something like that. The cameraman was probably just doing his job - staying behind the camera.

That airshow crash is a famous incident, the PIC was a notorious "cowboy". It served as a case study for the AF to rework their procedures regarding the reporting of behavior of senior aircrew.

I went to two different airshows in CA when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton and saw two horrific air crashes and will never go to an airshow again... kind of ruined the experience for me!

Exactly right...there is some other video of him zooming the creast of a mountain.

The Naval Safety Center devotes a day to this guy.
