anyone convert their cigarette adaptors to be constant on?
This can't be too hard. I had an X5 that always had live outlets with the key off so I could recharge things. The used Sequoia I picked up shut off with the key. Seems easy to just find a constant on and tap in. If it was a Porsche, I'd have no problem.:)

Haven't done it on the Porsche, but I did it on my old truck with no problems - you can even run a tap directly off the battery if you're so inclined. . .

Hmmm...my truck the lighters are always on. I recharge my cell phone all the time off of the truck's battery.
I think my 951 shut off with the ignition. I don't remember. |

yep I have/did
I didn't do it, years ago I got OEM to do it, they wired it from the back of the lighter to the fusebox used it for battery charger Quote:

Find the constant +12V to radio and T-tap that.
Cut wire going to center pin on Cig lighter - then splice wire from radio to center pin on cig lighter. Make sure the former wire is cut, and terminated with a butt connector so it doesn't short to metal dangling back there, and DEFINITELY disconnect it, otherwise if you tap +12V to that circut that's normally off when the key is off you'll be sending current to everything else on the same circut, in other words, you might not be able to shut your dashbord off or something strange like that... voila - instant always-on power. rjp |
