A380 landing at LAX

I saw it from my office on the 11th floor of our building.

Camera sucks for this sort of thing but here are the pictures I took.

While it is a big event in aviation, the first US landings of these large planes, I was most struck by the police car presence.

In both landings, NY and LAX, these planes were surrounded by cops.....

Wonder what prompted these activities?

Were the cops just bored, or did Airbus have credible threats to their brand new models?

any threats would have been all over the news by now.

Anybody know how long it will be here? I'm going to be passing by LAX later this afternoon and wanted to get a peek at it (legally), even if it is from far away...which way should I go, how should I go about doing this?

I read that it left at about 7PM last night.

they'll need more security if they try to land that thing in Seattle:rolleyes:

Porsche-O-Phile 03-20-2007 12:34 PM

Not to worry! If anyone tries to hijack it, there's a well-trained, highly-capable FRENCH crew on there that will fight courageously to thwart any evil plans.

(note: I thought the word "thwart" was better than "foil"). :p

Yea, all those cops are there fighting CRIME, protecting out CHILDREN, and keeping out STREETS safe. What a waste of taxpayer money, I hope they find SOMETHING to do during their shift.

I'm having trouble picturing a wingspan of 300feet
