Cigars and 911's -- Smile
|
![]()
I have purchased my first Audi, an A6 4.2 Quattro.
Can any Pelicans reccommend the best Audi forum? (I know I'm spoiled having such an excellent forum here for the last 1.5 years.) I know Wayne does have an VW/Audi tech forum here, and I did place a post there -- but I think it was the first in more than 100 days. Thanks guys! Tom

VWVortex also has Audi forums.
As far as actual tech info, Audiworld is my favorite. Lots of good how-to's

As the others have posted, Audiworld and Audizine are very good sites. The tech articles on Audiworld are great. The site is great too, as long as you can get over the layout. It's annoying to some. I personally used Audizine, but seems to cater to the 'younger' crowd. Still a great site. VWVortex has an Audi section, but it seems to cater to an even younger crowd, at least as far as the Audi sections go. Good luck! I plan on owning another Audi one day. I loved mine, but I *really* wanted the 911 I always lusted after.
Later, Mike

Congratulations for becoming an Audi/Porsche owner.
I too, have a Pcar (89 911) and a Audi (2001 A6 2.7T). Love them both in different ways. Sometimes I don't know where to spend my car money...... ;-) Audiworld is pretty good. Looking up info is great, but not great for chats and repeated posting. Little bit juvenille at times with dumb responses to real questions but overall very useful. ![]()

In my opinion audiworld is really filled with useless threads like "how's my new sig" (stands for signature) and bunch of kids playing with daddy's car...
I hated it although there are some good people once in a while. You will notice the kind of forum that Pelican is vs. any other and will apreciate this place even more... Big thanks to Wayne and all people involved in keeping this place running like it is today!

I own an 2006 A6 3.2 and a 2007 A4 B7 2.0T (wifes) and I wish PP had a forum. Audiworld seems to be full of "tuners" which I can't identify with.

www.fourtitude.com is VWVortex's Audi site. That's probably the best you're going to find. Their A6 forum is pretty slow, though.
Audiworld has good info, if you can pick past the fanboys and their crap. Audizine is OK, too. The trouble is that most people on these forums are interested in, for lack of a better term, "tuning". There are some mature people interested in their cars, but they're hard to come by, or so it seems. A friend of mine has a really nice A6 2.7T. Very tastefully modded w. BBS CH wheels, eibach pro-kit, magnaflow axle-back exhaust, GIAC software, RS6 grills and seats, etc etc. He's an older guy, so he'd not trying to impress anyone with bling or blow-off valves; he just wants a nice clean ride.
