when my Dad worked on the Saturn 5/Apollo rockets in the '60s, the computer system that was used to power/guide that machine to the moon and back, was equal to the same computer systems that were running our cars 5 years ago.:eek:

I was at an advantage as a child for having a set of encyclopedias at home. Other kids had to ride their bike to the library to look something up. Interesting to think about how things are changing exponentially. I was about 10 when the Apple 2 appeared. I think that was the real moment where it all changed

And what about that blurb about the US gov't. only spending $140 million on R&D one year? Uh huh. I think they spend that much money on R&D grants for just one or two universities.
