Mark, sorry for your accident. Hope you feel better. Sorry to say, but gone are the days when a sore neck, a few trips to the chiro and some advil will get you any money. These days, you need broken bones and/or surgery to get any money. Go ahead and hire an attorney... they'll take your case, but don't expect anything for your pain and suffering. The insurance companies have put an end to that. Please don't shoot the messenger!
Nah - it's no big deal. Couple days for the head to clear and a new bumpie and all will be well. I'll make my money the old fashion way - prostitution and drugs.

+1

People HATE being behind a big truck and frequently follow very closely out of frustration I guess.

After my rear bumper got dented up in a parking lot the ba$tard took off without leaving info. Not to be crude (well, kinda) but I decided then that having that big hard0n back there makes them think twice.

My truck is heavy (6000 lbs. I think) and has a 200 hp V6 (slow). I don't block traffic, I get out of people's ways, but it doesn't move or maneuver like a car, so yes, I will occassionally block lanes when I have not choice.

I pull through parking spaces, too much of a b!tch to back the thing out most of the time. The other day at work, I got in and heard a scraping noise. The person behind me had parked right up against my trailer hitch and it was scraping up and down their bumper as the truck adjusted to me getting in.

I must be still at home in bed, dreaming. I'm dreaming that a friend in Oregon who has personally participated in public policy making.......is recommending that a public agency get taken to the cleaners.....with the hope that wages for its employees will be raised as a consequence.

I hope you're alright, Mark.

Yes, Rangers make excellent daily drivers. I'm very happy with mine.

How does bankrupting a public agency raise wages?

Right, this isn't the private sector where all of those people would lose their jobs...they'll just raise taxes to compensate.

I can relate, my 02 Dodge Ram Quadcab 4x4 has the little 4.7 in it and it isn't exactly swift.

Twice since leaving the hitch on there I have noticed paint on it. Once I was BARELY tapped at an intersection by a Honda and it punched a hole cleanly through the bumper cover! The person didn't want ot exchange info or anything. Nothing happened to my truck!

PWD suggested suing the agency. Okay, that is a cost to the taxpayer. In other words, "gouge the taxpayer." Not a suggestion I expect from a conservative.

Then in the next sentence, PWD seems to be concluding that the transit drivers in question are "the lowest common denominator." There are two ways of "hiring the lowest common denominator." The one that actually happens is where you offer a wage that is not sufficient to attract the necessary skills. The other would be to offer a sufficient compensation package......but then hire poorly skilled workers instead of the applicants who demonstrated higher skill. I've never heard of an organization that routinely and deliberately selects low-skilled workers over high-skilled workers, but of course you'll probably suggest that's a gubmit policy. When you do, it will show your great understanding.

Yeah, doesn't he know that taking the tax-payers to the cleaners is a "gubmint official" job. :p

2) Mark, glad to hear you are in on piece. I'm have this feeling that I will eventually get rear-ended in my F150 (seems like people like to stop awfully close to it). I keep my trailer hitch in place just in case...

OOps my bad, Mark didn't get rear ended in his Porsche....
Otherwise this thread would be about, engine upgrades, new paint and suspension that never got hit. I'll watch it from now on.

At least you weren't standing back there. That would have sucked.
