I can't see how term limits would ever pass. It's not a popular referendum thing. It has to be voted on by the very people whose biggest interest is in killing the idea. It would take a const. amendment too and that's no walk in the park. I sure wish we had term limits, but I'll spend my energy on the things that actually have a chance of happening in my lifetime. I don't think anyone should ever be allowed to hold a federal office for more than one term. How refreshing would it be to see no reelection campaigns, no fundraising by office holders, the guys we elect actually spending all their time doing their job instead of running for reelection and raising money? Pie in the sky stuff.

How 'bout getting rid of the riders?
Each bill would do one thing and one thing only, and the congressman would sign below the line "I have read and understand this bill".
Nothing gets signed unless everyone gives a yeay or nay within a specified time. No non-votes, fudging of intentions, etc....

Yeah they'd have to work a bit more, but they already voted in their raises.

so you expect them to agree to something that would end up in more work for them? and expect the president not to veto something that would prevent him from using bribes?

you funny

At the expense of not being re-elected? YES we do expect results out of them.
