True. Way too many people only look at the EPA estimated MPG to determine how "green" a car is.
Sadly, this is true and the EPA knowingly mislead consumers on the fuel efficiency of hybrids. Prius owners found out the sad truth that the 60 mpg ratings were nowhere close to accurate.

The Greenpeace and Siera Club types who work at EPA had an agenda and wanted to make hybrids a success, even though the technology is flawed. Once again, the American people are having the wool pulled over their eyes by the government.

Now anyone who wants to dispute this fact by stating that the EPA is under the "big-oil" Bush administration doesn't know the first thing about the inner-workings of the EPA.

Interesting.

And is it just me, or is the average prius driver a priapus?

I have been cut off by these 'eco-friendly' cars quite a few times.

Seems ironic

Today's Sunday Oregonian had a guest column written by James L. Martin. Headline: Mybrids might look green, but look behind that battery. I went to the paper's website, couldn't find the column...maybe somebody who takes the paper has a scanner? The column is in the "opinion" section. Evidently, there is quite an envrionmental cost in the nickel used for the batteries, other concerns.
