that's an underachievement if you ask me... there's still room unused on the roofrack !!

Guy I know delivered me an entire 944 engine in the back of his 924S. From Colorado. It was rent for letting him stay at my place for a week. The engine (block, anyway) actually ended up in Danno (Guru Racing)'s 951 which I believe he's since sold. Kind of funny.

On a related note, I picked up another 944 block just this past weekend from a guy about 30 miles away - drove that one home in the back of my 951. :)

I also know for a fact you can fit TWO 944 transmissions and a fender in the back of a 944.

"This picture is real - not doctored in any way - and was taken by the guy who is Transportation Supervisor for a company that delivers building materials for 84 Lumber. When he saw it there in the parking lot of IHOP, he went and bought a camera to take pictures.

The car is still running as can be witnessed by the exhaust. A woman is either asleep or otherwise out in the front seat passenger side. The guy driving it was over jogging up and down on Rt. 925 in the background. The witnesses said their physical state was OTHER than normal and the police just shook their heads in amazement. The driver finally came back after the police were there, about to cut the twine around the load.

They told him to stay away until it was taken off.

The materials were loaded at Home Depot. Their store manager said they had the customer sign a waiver!

Both back tires are trashed. The back shocks were driven up through the floorboard. In the back seat are are 10 bags, 80 lbs. each of concrete. On the roof are many 2X4s, 4X4s and OSL sheets of lumber. They estimated the load weight at 3000 lbs. The car is a VW Jetta with FL plates and the guy said he was headed for Annapolis."

I drove myself and 4 other 17 year olds home from a soccer practice in my 924S complete with backpacks from the school day and soccer bags. It was quite snug but we fit.

I once carried 4 Empi 15" wheels with tires, a 914 chrome rear bumper and a 901 transmission in the front trunk of my old 914. That was a tight fit.

I've fit 3 901 transmissions in the front trunk of my 914/6.
