I hate to keep asking all these computer questions, but MP II?

I went to watch that Maguires video on their site about detailing and the "plug in" wouldn't work. Says I have to download the appropriate player, which is Windows MP II. I suspected I already had it, but followed along like a dope anyway. All installed and still won't load and trigger the player. How do I go about this?

Did you quit then restart the browser?

Zeke 04-08-2007 03:46 PM

Yes, I restarted the computer and went back to the site.

"No suitable plugins found." "Unknown plugin (application/x mplayer 2)"

Milt,

Link to the site? And what browser? IE or Firefox. XP or Vista.

Milt,

When you hit the page do you get the little yellow active x alert in your browser.

It runs l to r right at the top of the displayed page?

That's a standard Windows Media Player 9 format, the current media player is 11, but anything nine and up should play that. Best to re-install Media Player to get the codec sorted out.

There are other ways to solve this, but updating, or re-installing Media Player is the easiest I can think of.

Milt,

the video is streaming from here.

You can always run Windows Media Player, then go "File" "Open URL", copy paste the URL.

Download DivX player. Works with almost everything and is free.

The MS player sends info back to several sources. Really sure you want to be doing that?
