UNIMOG for sale

Well my ad mysteriously dissappeared off the classified section. I know it is more "off topic" but not sure how many people cruise this section.

Anyway, if you have ever been looking for a UNIMOG...this is the truck to get. This thing has been 100% rebuilt and it completely reliable. I use it as a daily driver! Fun to drive, decent fuel economy (diesel) and gets more attention than anything else!

Unparralled off road capabilities!

Asking $28,000

Too much to list, call if you are interested or PM me.

Thanks, Chris

What year is it?

I've always wanted one, but I've wanted an early one.

I love mogs, but they are too damn big so wifey says no. I think I can talk her into a pinzgauer though.

That a PTO winch? Looks electric in the pic

Winch is a WARN 15000lb. Works awesome and easy to get parts for if needed. Also comes with most recovery gear for off roading.

An early one???

I know what you mean about the looks and character of the early ones... but... the 406/416 models, like mine, are the best of both worlds. They still have the rounded body and the cool interior but then they come with the big diesel engine, power brakes, power steering, disc brakes and all the creature comforts that come with a more modern truck.

As for the size... much easier to park and drive than my dodge ram. The overall size is not that big. It fits in the garage and I never have trouble parking it. It is tall though so parking garages are out of the question.

I also have a removable camper/expedition box. It holds a full size bed and storage. Very robust steel construction, weather tight and insulated.

This truck is a 1977/78...

As for a womans perspective...

My girlfriend loves it! She always wants to drive it and thinks it is the coolest thing on wheels. She actually does not want me to sell it.

yeah, they're big, but they quite suprisingly nible. They have enormous ground clearance, and the turning radius is nothing short of incredible.

lucky you. my girlfriend could understand the porsche, so when I told her I was buying an antique mercedes convertible, she accepted it, but when the mog showed up.... well.

Yes, they are h-4's...

Turning radius is truly amazing. I can fling this thing into the tightest parking spots and you don't have to worry about door dings. The bottoms of the doors usually are above the height of most cars!

Absolutely amazing offroad capabilities. It just effortlessly crawls over anything that you point it to. I take it on some trails up by my house that the kids take their quads on... I can fit anywhere they can and I go go through the obstacles that they cannot pass.

The lowest gear is much slower than walking speed...even at redline! Top gear is enough to cruise at freeway speed.

There is an on board air compressor to air up your tires or run an impact gun. Standard air fittings and hose also included.

Drove it to work today in a rare Seattle blizzard and stayed toasty warm with the dual diesel heaters and listened to "The Cars - greatest hits" on the kicking CD player with big amps and speakers. Hard to believe these things were originally made for farm equipment.

Oh yeah, this truck used to be a beer truck in Germany!

I've ridden in Pinzgauers (up in the high country of Kauai), and they're also very drivable. They easily reach highway speeds and off road terrain is a breeze.

Man, I love Unimogs and Pinzgauers. I wish they made one that was carpool/kid friendly. Of course, like another poster, you-know-who would have an issue bigger than the tires about a Unimog or Pinzgauer.

Makes more sense than a HUMMER and 1/2 the price....I've seen this in person and it's in great shape. Put the box on that Chris talks about and you could live in it.....No more rent payments!!!!!

Mercedes Benz... made in Germany... you know, our mother land?

Weight is approx 9000lbs. With the camper box, it is 10,000lbs, It's a beast. Each tire and wheel weighs over 200lbs! Not quite like fuchs...

Here is a video clip of my truck at Mog Fest. It is the first truck you will see and then returns at 3:20 - 4:29

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nw2D6RtrGKE

My neighbor has a very nice Pinzgauer 6x6 for sale...he wants 40K and my truck will run circles around his!

Actually parked next to a H1 hummer today that had some oversized tires and big blingy rims on it... never really noticed how flat the roofs are on those things! The top of my truck is probably 3 feet taller than a hummer and I have twice the ground clearance! Way less than half the price, does not depreciate, and gets twice the fuel economy, classic car insurance, no emmissions, the absolute height of Mercedes Benz build quality...hmmm, now it all makes sense...

UNIMOG's are nicknamed... "official HUMMER recovery vehicle"

When I drive it to work, it is the conversation piece for the day with all of my clients. Everyone loves it! If I drive one of the Porsches, I get some who like them but I think the common belief is that it is kind of a snobby thing. That is until I explain that I restored the entire car, then it is OK...but the P-cars are not loved like the UNIMOG. Kind of wierd.

Here is a pic with the camper box...

How stable are the Unimogs in a turn? I'd be afraid they might turn over if cornered too aggressively.

You would have to really be trying to roll one of those things, they are just not a fast vehicle.

BTW, that truck is just too cool for words. I'd be swelled with pride driving that around! MN. is getting 2 feet of snow this week, you would be the envy of everyone in the state in that thing.
