No Match

Well they were not able to make a match out from my Otto Voit Rifle and any Shell Casings found at the Little Big Horn...so much for Apple Pie in the Sky Dreams of Sudden wealth knocking on my door.

Back to the Drawing Board...I do have a English Flintlock Double Barrel Shotgun in my sights..

All this means is that you can now enjoy shooting it.

Joeaksa 04-10-2007 02:32 PM

Ditto!

M.D. Holloway 04-10-2007 02:34 PM

I no gets, you can or can't get shells for the weapon?

scottmandue 04-10-2007 02:45 PM

What's up with the sudden obsession with Little Big Horn?

pwd72s 04-10-2007 02:58 PM

Hey, so it goes...may your quest continue, Tabby. What's with the little big horn obsession? Remember the old song, "Mr. Custer" by Larry Verne? The song was perhaps about Tabby's great grandpa! :D "Please Mr. Custer, I don't wanna go..."

Heck, we all need a dream to keep us going, right? Might as well be the search for a little big horn rifle as anything....

scottmandue 04-10-2007 03:03 PM

Now if you could find some spoons from little big horn... that would be something!

They are in the basement at the Alamo.

This is one of my favorite parts of the tour. Say hello to our residents, Pedro and Inez. Pedro is working on an "adobe." Can you say that with me?

I never was interested in the Battle of the LBH before I bought a rifle belonging to a survivor of the Battle. Then I did as much reading as I could to find references to him and find out about what really happened. Never have been a fan of Custer BTW.

If that rifle had had a match it would have been worth between 100K and 500K maybe more. I think that is reason enough for an obession.

Now I just have a rifle that belonged to a survivor of the Battle.. and might be worth in the 5K range.

The Bore of the rifle is like a sewer pipe..so its a no shooter.

pwd72s 04-11-2007 07:16 AM

Above the fireplace decorations complete. Tabby now has one rifle, one shotgun...and neither are connected to little big horn. That alone can be a conversation topic. :D

The reason the dude survived the LBH is that he took off after he saw the first Indian coming over the hill. That rifle was never fired there.

Porsche-O-Phile 04-11-2007 03:08 PM

Bummer. Still a very fine weapon and great to have in your collection though!
