No New Yorkers?

Come on NY Metro area people!

rs6er 04-12-2007 11:40 AM

Sorry. This was for another post. I inadvertantly clicked "New Post". I tried to delete it, but I apparently I don't have permission.

What do you fellas say we get together at Zum Stammtisch out on Glendale, LI for some German food? I owe a debt of Gratitude to Mike for some powder coating he had done and for being a great guy generally.

The Gaijin 04-12-2007 12:31 PM

You mean Zum Stammtisch over the Queens line, off Metropolitan Avenue? Count me in!

stomachmonkey 04-12-2007 12:39 PM

I ain't driven my car in there. The parking is for s**t.

How about the Plattdeutsch in Franklin Square?

They have a beer garden and rifle range.

Damn. I was expecting a utopia when I came in here. I figured any thread with "no New Yorkers" would be paradise. Oh well. Misled again.

rs6er 04-12-2007 12:44 PM

Actually, I was trying to post on the Lime Rock Hemmings thing. Any of you guys going there?

I know the area is OK. I was just there a couple months ago with some friends.

I meant finding a place to park is a pain.

You are not going to be in any condition to drive. I personally plan to take a limousine there and back. If we were meeting in Manhattan I would take the Subway, but with the exception of the Heidelberg, there are no good German places left in Manhattan. There is a place down in the East Village, but the mood there is foul, all 1937 leather and brass knuckles, full of seething, bitter people, infused with the intolerance of the tolerant. To say nothing of the parking.

Zum is on Myrtle Ave. Hard to find good parking. Im only a mile away, I mean my shop is and my house. Good parking at both, Let me know.
