I don't get my new neighbor

Last year, at the height of the market, he buys his 3 bd/2 ba house for over $700k. The house is 27 years old and has never been remodeled so imagine how much more the asking price would have been if it had a new kitchen, etc. We live in a great cul-de-sac, semi-private road in nice neighborhood, great schools, friendly people, nice gym, etc. Yet dude parks his big a$$ cop car sedan on his lawn!

No one else does that. We all take good care of our street. I dunno, maybe I should approach him. Don't want to piss him off too much because he's got a gun, maybe more than one.

it's a free country , dude. to each his own. if he wants to park on his grass, then that's the way it goes...

we have a neighbor across the street who does the same thing. parks his car on the grass.. and we live in a very nice neighborhood as well.
but that's ok, when I get my boat, i'll park that on the grass too ..
woooo

But be wary when he close-mows a helipad in the back yard!;)

VincentVega 04-13-2007 05:21 PM

No kidding.

A cop next door sounds like a good thing to me

cantdrv55 04-13-2007 05:40 PM

True

ikarcuaso 04-13-2007 05:49 PM

Neighbors: They're really great people, if only they didn't live next door...

Dueller 04-13-2007 05:51 PM

Wait a minute...you live in an area where cops can afford $700K homes? Sure he's not on the take...or dealing?

Tervuren 04-13-2007 06:00 PM

Personly, I wouldn't object to a police car being parked in my neighborhood.

Can't park or wash cars on the lawn here in the ghetto. There's an ordinance (as if anyone really pursues this in anyone of the trashed neighborhoods we have). Can't work on a car in the street or front yard either.

Why does he park on the lawn? No drive way? Post a pic.

There was a guy in my neighborhood that did the same thing. He had a perfectly good driveway, and was living in an area of newly-built and very well-off homes ($800k as a low). He even created parking spaces for 2 of his cars by placing bricks in his yard to outline the spots. Weird.

Oh well, to each his own, I guess. But I'd be kinda frustrated about it too.

if I read it right, he isn't a cop, but just has something like a crown vic for a daily driver.

It could be worse - a little long but really funny:

Chris Martin: " No kidding.

cantdrv55: "True"

I think he means a real cop

Notice the fine craftsmanship on the brickwork surrounding the standard mailbox on a post:

I have a cop moving in next door in 5 days. I hope he's a cool guy. I REALLY hope he's a cool guy.

cantdrv55 04-13-2007 07:49 PM

He's a detective and I am not taking a picture of his house to post on the internet. Just take my word for it, his black CV is on the lawn and the grass is dying.

I think his wife is a nurse. I see her in scrubs after work.

Reminds me of that dialogue in the movie "Crash".

Girl cop: "Oh, and for your information, my mother is from Puerto Rico, and my father is from Venezuela, neither of which are in Mexico."

Guy cop: "Well, then I guess the real mystery here is; ... who gathered together all these vastly different cultures, and taught them all to park their cars on their lawn?"
