Excellence is now on board with swaps

I guess it is acceptable to drop a WRX in a Porsche now since Excellence thought enough to write an article about it. It sure is a great way to get 300HP cheap.

Sad sad day when the magazine (all about porsches) is putting articles like that in the publication. I guess there is no quality cars around for them to feature..................

Cheers

For an electric 911? Yes. If you're going to go hybrid, do it with, say, a 912 -- at least that was _designed_ to be under-powered. (sarcasm)

An electric porsche could probably be made faster than stock, since an ugly ass EV can already beat a Porsche...

Personally I'll be happy to read that article. I mean really -- how many times do we need yet another article on a new 997 or somebody's 89 carrera backdate (as cool as that may be). If you've subscribed to Excellence for more than 3 years, you've already seen 10 different articles on every single imaginable Porsche related topic -- there's only so much new stuff to write about. This should be an interesting read -- it doesn't mean you have to do it to your car, or for that matter even agree with the concept. Lets face it, most of the concours crowd cringes when they read about our backdates and custom jobs. Different strokes, as they say. . .

Rodney King may have been and idiot, but he had it right when he said "can't we just all get along?"

I'm ready for an electric Porsche or a hybrid Porsche, the old man would of been proud.

Hey, I'm all for some different reading. It was getting to be that I was almost able to predict each magazine before it came. (Someone RS replica, a new piece on the Cayman/Cayenne/GT3/Turbo, a 356 restoration to please the oldies. and questions in the tech sessions about the 993 engine warning light.)

Whew! Looks like I cancelled my subscription at just the right time. To the credit of the magazine, they sent a check to cover the issues I won't be seeing...

Wasn't the first iteration of Porsche made up of components from other car parts bins?

Too much emotion and too many people thinking that Porsche = perfection.

It doesn't.

There is an electric 914 up in Portland that turns some very impressive 1/4 mile times....

I'm all for it! Imagine the amount of horsepower and torque you could get with all the aftermarket parts.

Besides....How many Porsche owners are content to leave the car as built? If they were, there would be no mags like Excellence with all the aftermarket goodies. I would say that one of the rarest cars is a Porsche from the 70s or 80s that has not been molested.

How many of the Porsche car owners watch Monster garage or like Jesse James. He painted his Ferrari 430 flat black and has a datsun B210 with a big block in it. If most of us are true hot rodder we should get pleasure from fast cars.

Didn't Porsche do some engineering work with Subaru?
