Home phone w/blue tooth?

Anyone know if such a beast exists? The wife thinks that would be "neato"

If you have a small house maybe.

Blue tooth is only good for 30 feet and then not even that. The spec does not call for a large coverage area. One ofthe things that makes it "usefull". You can set your computer sleep/lock when you walk away and wake/unlock when you return, stuff that's proximity based.

Since it's primarily used in laptops and cell phones you want to limit the broadcast range.

I saw one at Staples over a year ago... haven't seen it again so I presume it didn't catch on.

30' range would be fine, it's just for her office area. Can BT be programed for more than one device? She uses her cell for her business so she is already wearing the bud.

Yes and no. Depends on the device, some will only pair to one device at a time while others don't care. It's usually the cheap headsets that suck. I found that you generally get what you pay for with BT headsets.

I have my phones paired to my computers to keep contacts synced. My 1st BT headset would constanly pair with my computer and I would have to re-pair it with my phone.

Subsequent headsets were OK with multiple devices. Really no reason to pair a headset wth a laptop unless you are doing VOIP.

Your wife uses a Mac I think. She should look into two pieces of software, Blue Phone Elite and Sailing Clicker.

300' range, conference up to 4. Seems like the ticket to me. Expensive.
